Well the summer is almost coming to an end! School starts on Friday Sept 3rd. I really find it hard to believe that it will be Landon's first year of school next year! It seems like just yesterday we were driving home from the hospital with him!'

Only two weeks left of mat leave. I am really going to miss spending time with my kids. We will just have to make extra effort to make the weekends that much more special.

Kendall and I celebrated our first anniversary this weekend. One year down and I hope LOTS more left!

I also discovered Avery's first tooth last week. She has been dealing with the pain ok but she is having some discomfort. I hope that the pain goes passes quickly for her.

I am gonna miss spending time with the kids and I hope the adjustment goes smoothly....not sure how I am gonna handle the 6 am wake up calls again! the only thing is now I have two kids to get out the door. not sure how I am gonna get to work on time now, I couldn't do it before!

We have had an exciting past 7 days! Alex and Sheena were married on Aug 14th we spend 4 days in Mabou. It was a great mini vacation in a beautiful location!

Jodi W. and I also took the kids to Liscombe Lodge for a couple nights. It was a blast! The kids has fun swimming, watching movies and doing crafts. The breakfast was also a bonus! The stay near the river was great as well! doing a summer trip with the kids and Jodi has turned into a yearly thing.

Mid Summer!

WOW

I can't believe that my summer with the kids is almost over! we have done a lot over the last few weeks and still have lots to do over the next few weeks! Yesterday we enjoyed a day with Karen at the boys doing the 28th annual Bridge walk! it was cool and weird to walk on the bridge and feel just how much it moves, I haven't done the walk since I was a kid living in Wallis Heights!

today we are off to somewhere fun with Jodi W. I will keep you posted on what exactly we decide to do!

We have Alex and Sheena's wedding on the 14th then I am taking the kids to Liscombe lodge with Jodi W.

Summer Summer Summer!

Hi All!

Well we have been enjoying summer so much that, well I have been slacking on the whole blog thing!

Avery has discovered her love for the water! We spend almost every sunny afternoon at Nonna's and Poppa's! I am really going to be sad next summer when I am back at work and can't enjoy such laid back schedual.

We had Landon's birthday party today, he wanted a pool party so bad! We were going to cancel the pool and just have the party at the house but around luch time it looked like it was starting to clear. The rain did end up crashing the party but all the kids still had fun! Landon had a great time and enjoyed playing with all his frineds!

We are getting ready for another camping trip to Risser's beach next weekend. I really hope that the weather is nice so we can enjoy the water and some time on the beach!

Summer Adventure

Well the camping trip to Dollar lake was a blast! Avery did VERY well and sleeping some where's different didn't seem to bother her a bit! Landon loved going out on the boat, even though they didn't catch anything. Kendall and Dad went out on Saturday, I think Dad really enjoyed getting out and doing some fishing.

Avery didn't really like the water, it was still too cold for her. she pretty much slept in Nan's arms the whole time. Landon and Jodi made a great sandcastle and I took Harley for a swim! It cooled him off but I know Mom probably cursed me where the water is going to cause him the shed like a bugger!

We enjoyed the whole camping thing and I can't wait to do it again! we do have a chance to go Canada day weekend but I think it will be very busy at the camp ground and we probably should stay home to get yard work and some gardening done.

We have moved the computer, TV and all the toys down to the basement now that it is finished. It looks great and it certainly keeps the upstairs a lot cleaner for longer!

only 2 1/2 months left of mat leave then back to work I go. I am really going to miss my kids but I am sure that once i get back into the swing of things at work I will be ok. I am really hoping that once # 3 comes I get to stay home.

Until next time, use sunscreen and hang in the shade!

I wasn't going to do a post already but I am just way to excited for my cousin Rae-Anne and her little angel Kamryn, oh yes and her daddy Anthony! we are pretty much sure that today is the day that she gets to go home from the IWK! Kamryn was born a few weeks early and had some complications. She is pulling through like a champ and keeps on amazing us with every turn! She's a fighter so world watch out!

Landon had a blast at Monster Jam on Saturday! he was sad that Donkey Kong wasn't there but Grave digger was so now he has two favorite Trucks. Well I think he may actually have more than two cause there is also a Batman truck!

I only have three more months left of mat leave and I am trying to adjust to the idea of going back to work. I didn't realize how hard it would be. Hopefully I will only have to do it for a few more years. I am hoping that I will be able to do some in home childcare and not have to work out of the home. I am torn by this idea of in home childcare as well where it is also a very trying job and is a lot of work. People probably think that you just let the kids play while you watch soaps all day but that is NOT the case at all!

We had another great night at soccer last night. Landon loves playing with other kids. I really want to get him out this summer and hopefully squeeze in a few play dates with Keenan where he is living so close now. Nonna and Papa also have started the pool clean up so that will be nice to have this summer. I just hope the weather warms up soon.

We are going on our first camping trip with Avery this weekend! We are just going to Dollar lake so if anything really goes wrong we are pretty close to home. Kendall and I have invited Nannie and Grampie out for a father's day supper. Kendall is also planning on taking Landon out in the canoe for a bit of fishing. Should be a good time and the weather is suppose to be nice and hot, I am hoping to get Avery down to the beach to test the sand!

Well this week hasn't been as nice to us as last week. We had a great time at Tessa's birthday party. it was a great afternoon and wonderful to get out of the house. The bad part was that by the time I went to bed on Sunday I had a full blown head cold. During the night Landon woke up not feeling so great as well.

So we are now on day #4 of colds. I feel much better than what I did earlier this week and Landon seems to have a lot more energy. Today is the first day that we haven't napped during the day!

The down fall to being sick this week is that it has been SO nice out! today was the first time we enjoyed it. I thought even though we are still sniffling both Landon and I have more energy so we played on the deck most of the morning and after lunch we took Avery out on the lawn. Landon played with her while I mowed, it was time and Kendall has be very busy with work and the basement that he hasn't really had time to get the lawn mowed.

The basement is coming along great. Kendall says that we should be planning to move down on Sunday! of course we can't do it Saturday Landon and Kendall have monster trucks at the speed world. Landon is very excited!

hopefully my next post will be coming to you when the computer is in the basement! fingers crossed!

What an exciting week for us! Landon played on his first soccer team! He did great and loved it! I can't wait for more team sports and more soccer games. He only plays once a week, which is perfect! once he is older I imagine that he may like to play hockey or a year round soccer team. I am sure he will find something that he will like soon enough and become obsessed with it!

Kendall is also off today to write his test for his mechanics license. Fingers crossed this is the last time. They are the worst test to write all multiple choice and most of the questions have sneaky answers. The answers are usually all correct but the testers want the selection made to the answer that is MOST correct!

The kids and I are off tomorrow to help Tessa Campbell celebrate her 4th birthday! Landon 4th birthday is just over a month away! I still can't get over how fast Landon has grown, especially this past year! I always strive to enjoy the time I have with them when they are young before I know it I won't be able to spend so much time with them. They will be starting to create they own lives.

I hope that where ever you are you are enjoying life and not stressing over the stuff that won't matter in the future. A lot of energy in our world is wasted by stressing over stuff that always seems to work out.

Cheers*

Reno's and Garden's galore!

Well I am really not keeping up on this blog thing, I really wanted to be adding something every other day or so. Life is full of excitement and keeps us buys we love it! So sometimes blogging will just have to wait!

We had a great weekend. Basement Reno's are in full swing and Kendall is doing a great job! I can't wait to have our family/playroom down there! a place where all of us can hang out! We were busy on Saturday with planting the family veggie garden. This year is our first year for a garden so lets keep our fingers crossed. We planted green beans, yellow beans, corn, snow peas, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce and green peppers! I think Landon will have a blast once we can see some plants and start harvesting! I can't wait to make pickles, relish and dill carrots!

It is now the end of May and we really still haven't received any warm weather. I am hoping for a good summer full of swimming and outdoor fun. I won't be getting another summer off for a while!

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Still getting used to this whole blog thing but again I really think it will be cool to be able to look back as a family and see our events.

Yesterday was "cousin" Jodi's birthday, Nicole and I made a trip to Truro to visit surprise Jodi and head out for supper and a night of girl chat! It was fun and I really need to get out without the kids more often. It gives Kendall a chance to really bond with them! He said the kids were good and that they had a fun night. Avery was a bit hard to get put down for the night but other than that a pretty normal evening.

When I arrived home I did find Landon cuddling in my spot. Think he missed me or just wanted to watch TV with dad?

We really didn't do much today just hung around the house. it is a pretty cool day here and overcast so we didn't even venture outside for some playtime.

hopefully tomorrow the weather will be better!

First family blog!

Hello all!

This is our family's first blog!

I am mostly doing this to track our family events and to allow a record of our history. I am hoping that some day the kids will be able to look back and see all the fun and challenging things they have accomplished over the years!

We had a great May long weekend! Kendall was able to get away on Saturday and Sunday with his dad for a bit of fishing and camping! While away Me, Landon, Avery and "cousin" Jodi stirred up a bit of our own fun!

Saturday was spent downtown Halifax. We went across on the ferry, it was Landon and Avery's first time, once getting off the ferry we made our way down tow the Museum of the Atlantic. The museum was having a birthday celebration for their Macaw "Merlin" it was his third birthday! Landon got to make a parrot puppet, we all had cake! Avery was loving the treat! I was surprised at how much stuff they actually had there for kids to do. It was a great afternoon.

Sunday started off with trying to pack for a day trip to the Valley for a visit to Oaklawn Zoo! It was a beautiful sunny day and the kids did really well with traveling in the car with the heat. Once arriving home we were greeted by Kendall who said he enjoyed his trip and that he actually caught the biggest fish!

Monday we did the usual "hang out in the yard" thing. we transplanted some plants and dug out the wade pool for Landon, and of course we ended the day with a barbecue and ice cream!

couldn't ask for anything more! :)
